Going to Indonesia for the phenomenal Komodo National Park? Chances are you have heard how awesome the trip is. For several day of the trip, you will be taken to sail with Liveaboard Labuan Bajo to see the prehistoric dragons, diving into Komodo’s cool and vibrant dive sites, and hike into surreal landscapes in the surrounding islands.

It’s a trip of dream.

Aside from adventure-filled days, however, sailing in a boat is another experience on itself. It’s a chance to experience a certain lifestyle that otherwise you would never taste. Sailing boat offers relaxed vibe that would be too perfect for a momentary rest from the world. But for those with active soul might seek something to keep them fit and moving. Doing exercise during a sailing trip actually keep you fresh and energised while others might struggling to wipe off sleep from their eyes. Given liveaboard’s limited space, however, exercises should be practical and need no special equipment to do (other than a mat to comfortably stand/ sit/ lie on).

Easy and Effective Exercises to Do in Liveaboard Labuan Bajo

Yoga

Can you imagine doing yoga in the middle of Komodo’s luscious nature? Yoga is one of the easiest workout to do in Liveaboard Labuan Bajo. Go to the boat deck (we recommend the rooftop deck, if available!) and spread your yoga mat. Gaze to the endless ocean and serene natures all around you, and let the tranquility seep in. Doing the poses with undulating hills in the background, inhaling the fresh air, and let the salty breeze sweep your face will make a truly meaningful yoga experience.

Meditation

Following the yoga, spare some minutes for peaceful meditation. There’s truly nothing like meditating in in the midst of vast open sea. The lack of physical boundaries of the sea makes it easier to set your mind free from any worldly restriction, while the humming sounds of the waves act as a natural mantra to send you deep into the subconsciousness.

Freestyle Swimming

Oh, this goes without saying. Who will skip a chance to swim in Komodo’s brilliant water while they are sailing with Liveaboard Labuan Bajo? Swimming is great to keep your body in shape. It also brings instant freshness—both for body and mind—and keep you ready for whatever adventure waiting for the rest of the day.

Planks

Need to tone some muscle? Do Planks. Roll your yoga mat on and get into pushup position. Planks is one easy workout that will help your muscles stay strong for mountainous hike and long walk during Komodo islands excursion.

Standing Crunch

Standing crunch is a perfect light exercise to do in the stillness of early morning in Komodo. When the rest of the world is still sedated from leftover of the night, get yourself ready and find a stable spot to do the standing crunch. It’s great to stretch some muscles and wake up your body.
